FTA Keys:
The presence of new technology on the internet is growing rapidly and because of this people are aware of previously obscure technology that they may not have been aware of ten years ago. FTA, or Free to Air, is one such technology that has been around for while now but is just gaining exposure due to the internet. For most people who do a quick read on FTA Keys, the information is overwhelming and seems complicated. In fact it isn’t any more complicated than setting up a DVD Player.
FTA Keys are simply decoder keys for FTA receivers so that they can make channels viewable on your television. When free to air signals are picked up by your satellite dish, they are converted and sent via cabling to your FTA receiver. Once there, the receiver needs to decode the signal for viewing. Different FTA manufacturers use different codes which need to be inputted on different intervals. If your free to air channels are down, you simply enter the new code and all your channels are back. There are many FTA receiver manufacturers available for the consumer to choose from. Some popular names are Sonicview, Coolsat, Pansat and Viewsat. All of these manufacturers build several models to accommodate your needs or budget. These receivers are called set top receivers as they are very similar (in design) to your DVD player. FTA receivers are now branching off to PCI Cards where you can download and enter keys right on your PC, which is connected to both your TV and Satellite dish. This type of FTA Key entry is virtually instant. These are usually referred to as DVB PCI Cards and are manufactured by many companies.

Once you have your hardware (satellite dish, LNB converter and FTA receiver), you will need to find a way to download keys reliably and for a reasonable fee. There are many websites available that offer FTA Keys, Receiver Download being one of them. Stay away from the ‘free’ ones – there is always a ‘catch’. Instead find a site that offers FTA Keys at a reasonable price and has good user reviews.
